Over the summer break, Whitsunday Sailing Club will be conducting a range of learn to sail programs for both adults and children. Sailing is a family sport that can be enjoyed by all family members, ranging from 8 – 80 years of age. Sailing is one of the few sports that is fully gender neutral, enabling everyone to get on the water and have a go.
The programs will include a couple of Discover Sailing Experience days on Sunday 13 December and Sunday 10 January. A Discover Sailing Experience is an approximate three-hour sailing experience at an accredited Discover Sailing Centre, without the technical detail of a course, for families, friends, or work colleagues. Having the chance to use the Centre’s social facilities is as much a part of the experience as is getting out on the water. The aim of a Discover Sailing Experience is to encourage participants to want to do more sailing at the club and possibly register for a Discover Sailing Course.
For those who wish to progress to the next stage, there are planned discover sailing courses on the week 14 – 18 December, 4 – 8 January, 11 – 15 January.
