History of Sail Airlie

Since becoming an annual event in 2009, the Whitsunday Sailing Club Easter Off the Beach regatta has become an important date in the calendar for many sailors across Queensland, with some coming all the way from Brisbane to complete.

Last year the regatta was restricted by major construction works  while the club was expanding to incorporate new Whitsunday Maritime Training Centre building.  that work is now complete, and is a real addition to the club.  So come on down, bring the family, bring the boat, and most importantly, come to enjoy great fellowship ashore and competition on the water.

The Location

Airlie Beach has loads to offer both sailors and non-sailors. From day trips to the Whitsunday islands and Great Barrier reef, to bars, restaurants and an enclosed swimming lagoon. The Whitsunday Sailing Club is ideally situated on the waterfront, right in the heart of Airlie Beach.

Camping

Limited camping will be available at the club during the regatta.  Bookings can be made via the website shortly. Please check back soon.

There is a range of accommodation in the close proximity to the club, including hotels, motels, camping grounds, caravan parks, etc.
