Joanne is a passionate sailor and boat owner of Chikara Outlaw and Goggo Chikara. Her sailing highlights are navigator and co-skipper of team Chikara Outlaw, winner’s of the Victorian Offshore Championship 2010. She also Skippered Chikara Chicks to become overall champions of the Australian Women’s Keel Boat Regatta in 2011, winning IRC and AMS.

Joanne, her husband and two children sail Goggo Chikara together, as mentioned in the Whitsunday times, the sports boat on steroids!

She wants to give back by using her experience to support and help grow the club to become something the community can be proud of!

Joanne has experience in the hospitality industry, originally a qualified chef then restaurateur: founder, director and general manager of four award winning restaurants. She moved into adult education and technology roles within the past 15 years where she has also held positions of Senior Consultant, Business Activity Manager (Federal funded projects), Product Manager roles, User experience and Workforce Development specialists.
